A Message from Andrea Brett

Hello, and welcome to the I Am a Veteran website. As you may notice, this site is a work in progress, but as time goes on, it will become more complete. My intention, however, is that it never be finished. My desire is for it to become a living and growing platform for collecting and sharing stories, photographs, and artwork dedicated to military veterans.

Over the last several months, I have been focusing my attention on getting the I Am a Veteran book finished. It has been a consuming project, but during that time of immersion, I have had many exciting ideas about where this website can go, and am looking forward to implementing them over time. Thank you for being part of this journey to draw attention to our veterans and to honor them.

I recently read the book, Your One Word, by Evan Carmichael. It inspired me to select one word that would drive and inform everything related to I Am a Veteran. The word I chose is #HONOR. That one word has been and will be behind each decision, idea, and offering related to this endeavor. #HONOR is what our veterans deserve and I hope they feel it generously flowing from this place.
